About Us.

  • Scottish Continuity was formed in 1995 to enable the free-flow of information on best practice in Business Continuity Management in Scotland.

At its inception membership was limited to professionals actively involved in Business Continuity in the Financial Services industry. Over a short period of time membership increased, as did the scope of public and private sector operations represented.

Scottish Continuity today provides a not for profit membership organisation that promotes the empowering of a more Resilient Scotland across our membership: Learning, Connecting, Building Resilience together!

Meet the Scottish Continuity team below!

  • The organization is dedicated to the following objectives:

    • Encouraging and supporting 'best practice' through networking events, conferences and training events.

    • Encouraging the development and provision of Business Continuity and Resilience related education, training and development activities within Scottish Continuity and with the Training Provider community.

    • Encouraging and supporting conferences, meetings, seminars and social events arranged for the benefit of the membership.

  • Scottish Continuity offers:

    • Appropriate membership levels to attract a comprehensive and representative membership throughout Scotland; including student, individual and corporate membership.

    • Facilitate the exchange of information and best practices within all sectors of services, industry and commerce in the public and private sector for the benefit and in the interests of the individual members, their employers and clients.

    • Encourage and support the integration of resilience practices into the day-to-day management structure of member organizations.

  • Sandra Riddell - Web Master

Sandra is an experienced corporate resilience leader with a global perspective and a growth mindset.

Her vision has always been for people to feel safe wherever they are, to be empowered and have the ‘muscle-memory’ to effectively manage change, opportunity, and disruption. For Sandra, the joy has always been in finding the many ways to advance towards that vision. She made a career at DXC Technology out of doing that. Key was always making connections with people, building awareness, developing capability, and providing the support needed to respond to events. She developed policies and programmes, ran awareness sessions, training, exercises, and spoke all over the world (virtually) to share that vision and find people to join her to help build the world she had imagined.

Retiring from DXC at the end of 2023, Sandra set to work re-imagining Scottish Continuity’s website and continuing to support the board and members. Still an avid watcher of events around the world, she has almost completed a full time one year art course at Edinburgh College.

If you have any website suggestions, she really wants to hear them. Contact her at sandra@scottishcontinuity.com
